Venus and Serena Williams rightly receive showers of adoration for their glorious achievements in tennis. They have had an inspirational journey and are one of those who serve as the face of the sport. However, even though their fans outweigh all sorts of hate and portray them as perfect humans, there have always been people who said otherwise. One such person is Liam Nolan.
Nolan, in a 2012 interview, revealed the secrets of many tennis stars and gave his opinion about their off-court selves. He spoke about how Djokovic asked for his advice on where to pick up women and how good Nadal is at barbequing. Though with all this, he also opened up about an incident that made him dislike the Williams sisters.

Wimbledon’s former Head stringer, after addressing the atrocities of his job, spoke about Serena and Venus. He said, “I didn’t like working with the Williams sisters: they’re very horrible people, really.”

Thereafter, Nolan, who worked for Wimbledon for almost 20 years, shared. “I remember we were raising some money for a kids’ hospice and we would have two T-shirts that we’d get all the players to sign and they were the only two who refused to sign it because they said they had not got enough time.”

Nolan left the tournament complaining of low pay and extensive work in 2002. In 2002, the Williams sisters had just started their campaign of asserting dominance over the sport. While Venus, who debuted in 1994, already had two Wimbledon trophies and the ranking of world no.1. Serena was yet to prove her prowess in the grass-courts of London. Notably, in that season, she claimed her first Wimbledon title.
Venus and Serena’s journey
Starting with the elder sister Venus Williams. The 42-year-old has had a long career filled with ups and downs. Like every other professional, she dealt with on court injuries. Though the auto-immune disease was just a surprise obstacle that adversely affected her career. Nevertheless, she managed to secure a total of seven singles and 14 doubles Grand Slam titles to her name.
