‘Violence Is Never Justified’- Victoria Azarenka Addresses Ongoing Tensions Around the World

Former World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka has been one of the most heard players on the tour. The manner in which she has gone about things in her career is something that players aspire for. 

Over the years in her career, Azarenka has achieved a lot of success. Besides dominating scenes in the singles category, she has won Grand Slam titles in mixed doubles too. She has also won the gold medal in the mixed doubles London Olympics and the bronze in the singles.

Victoria Azarenka has been concerned with matters outside the court

Speaking on the subject, Victoria stated, “I know it’s wishful thinking maybe at certain times. I think the core foundation of humanity shouldn’t be lost in any conflict. I think the violence is never justified in any case. Never will be in my eyes. So, I hope that the compassion, the empathy is something that we can grow more, to avoid situations and conflicts that’s happening in the world.”

Coming to tennis, Azarenka came as far as the fourth round of the Australian Open this season. Post that, she suffered an opening round loss at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships.

Below-par results so far this season

Following that, she competed in Qatar. Sadly, she had to withdraw before her second-round match as she handed her opponent a walkover due to a back injury.

At the moment, the Belarusian star is competing at the Indian Wells 2022. Where, she won her opening round match against Australian player Astra Sharma.
