Sloane Stephens, the American tennis ace, is gearing up for her home Grand Slam. But before that, there is something important to celebrate. With the season advancing towards its end, the time for Black Business month has come.

In the month of cherishing and uplifting the rising business of the community, Stephens also gave a shout-out to a hardworking organization.

Sloane Stephens about Kaiso Swin

Stephens decided to take some time off her busy training schedule and wrote a letter describing how proud she was of her friend. She appreciated the efforts of the company Kaiso Swim in providing fun and comfortable beachwear. Along with that, she showered the founder of the company with love, who happens to be a friend and former fellow athlete. She uploaded a story that said, “I wanted to shine a light on one of my favorite Black-owned businesses that might be under your radar, but shouldn’t be!

“I’ve known the Leacock family since the junior tennis days. I’ve watched Trish build this brand on her own. And know how much hard work goes into creating something from scratch. Trish is meticulous about every single detail of her brand and it shows in the end result,” the former World no.3 added.

Trishelle Leacock is a former national track and field athlete turned fashion designer. The 26-year-old has brought her brand, whose expertise is in providing Caribbean beachwear to prestigious platforms such as EBONY Media and Marie Claire. Also, Leacock’s name was mentioned in Essence’s emerging Black women fashion designers.

The 2017 US Open champion’s only noteworthy performance of this season came in the French Open, reaching the quarterfinal. As when Stephens stepped on the hard courts of Citi Open, she faced an unsatisfactory first round exit. She suffered a straight set defeat against the Australian tennis ace Ajla Tomljanović.

Thereafter, she enrolled for the Canadian and Cincinnati Masters. In Toronto, she packed her bags after a second-round clash with the Greek professional and former World no.3 Maria Sakkari. Whereas in Cincinnati Open, the WTA No.1, Iga Swiatek knocked her out of the tournament. The Pole outclassed her in straight sets of 6-4  7-5.
