Eugenie Bouchard has had a torrid time coping with injuries recently. The 27-year-old has been out of action since March 2021. Her last appearance was at Abierto GNP Seguros tournament in Monterrey, Mexico. Despite being off the court since then, Bouchard has kept her fans engaged through social media.

The former World No. 5, who has an active social media presence, recently gave a glimpse of her recovery process.

The Canadian updates fans on her recovery

In a reel shared on Instagram, she was seen doing some indoor practice as she aims to get back on the court. Recently, Eugenie had stated that she was dying to play a real competitive match. She has had injuries and tough results in the past but she looks motivated to make a strong return.

The Canadian feels that there is nothing more that she wants to do than play tennis. She has the belief to overcome her injury struggles and get back to a good level. Surely, if the 27-year-old believes in herself and keeps working hard in practice and playing the right way in matches, she has a lot to offer.

What lies ahead for Eugenie Bouchard?

In March 2021, Eugenie Bouchard suffered a torn subscapularis in her right shoulder which has kept her out of action since. Further, in June, she underwent surgery and started her recovery process. Last season, she could play only four tournaments which included the qualifying rounds at the Australian Open. She made it to the finals at Abierto Zapopan in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she lost to Sara Sorribes Tormo in the summit clash.

The Canadian, who had been ranked as high as No. 5 in the world, has seen her ranking dip to No. 309 in the world due to the long injury layoff. We hope to see a fit and strong Eugenie Bouchard back on the tennis courts soon. However, the task ahead of her is monumental.
