Serena Williams and Venus Williams have always been very vocal about their personal and professional lives. Often the media tells one story and behind the scenes, it’s a different scenario. To feel connected to their fans, the Williams sisters often share their life online, showcasing what they do, and how they live, and it also includes their faith.

In a past interview, the sisters also talked about their religious beliefs and how they were raised. It is not common for celebrities like them to be so open about what they believe in and what they follow, but the sisters never shy away from being vocal about it and sharing it with their fans.

In a 2022 discussion with Harpers Bazaar, Serena Williams and Venus Williams had been asked several questions about their personal lives. And one of them gave them the platform to talk about their religious beliefs as well.

In the interview, they shared, “We don’t celebrate holidays at all. But we definitely like to just always figure out ways to The Fellowship.” Additionally, the Williams sisters shared that they were raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Last year, after the birthday of Serena Williams’ daughter (Olympia), the 23-time grand slam champion talked about the reason behind not celebrating special events. To The New York Times, she said, “I tried to develop a better relationship with God. You have a strong solid foundation, the Bible says, you won’t crack, but the man who built his house in the sand, his house went down spiritually. I have a really strong foundation. That’s how I was raised.”

In fact, Serena Williams also shared how even her daughter has been following the same religion. The tennis legend also baptized herself as a witness to reaffirm her faith.

At the beginning of the year in 2023, Serena Williams got herself baptized as a witness at the Jehovah’s Witness Assembly. This was in West Palm Beach Florida. In another one of her interviews, Serena Williams mentioned that she believes in the religion but wants to explore more about it and baptism was the answer for her.

In fact, later she also revealed that her elder daughter Olympia also follows the same religion. As the queen of tennis and a renowned entrepreneur, the way Serena Williams sticks to her beliefs and instills it in her daughter says a lot about her powerful personality.
