Several current and former tennis players, including Martina Navratilova, have reacted to the news, as the basketball player has been sentenced to a 9-year prison verdict due to the possession of marijuana.

Meanwhile, Navratilova recently posted about the judicial system and law of both America and Russia, as she shared one example similar to Griner’s.

Earlier, the 18-time Grand Slam champion, Navratilova took to Twitter and wrote, “Perspective. We stink here in the US but pretend we are holier than thou to the world… EVERYBODY who is in prison in US for marijuana should be released with no record whatsoever. Then we can bitch about the rest of the world…”
