It has been a special year for American tennis. This season has seen many young talents from the United States put on eye-catching displays. Take the example of Coco Gauff. Earlier this year, the American sensation reached the finals of the French Open in both singles as well as women’s doubles. Recently, two legends of the sport, Venus and Serena Williams, made a comeback on the court after a lengthy injury layoff.

Although their comeback hasn’t gone according to their plans, the two sisters are giving their all on the court. They will be in action at the US Open, starting in a few days. Recently, Venus addressed a fan’s special wish.

Venus Williams hints at playing doubles with Serena Williams at the US Open

On her weekly question-and-answer session with her fans on Instagram, one of the fans asked Venus, “Doubles at US Open?” Subsequently, replying to this question, the American legend said, “Wouldn’t that be great? But this highlight reel is unbelievable and a must watch!!!”

After recovering from a hamstring injury, Serena made a comeback on the tour by playing doubles with Ons Jabeur at Eastbourne International. The pair reached the semifinals before withdrawing from the tournament due to an injury to Jabeur.

Venus and Serena’s doubles record

The Williams sisters have enjoyed tremendous success in doubles playing with each other. They have won an astonishing 14 Grand Slam doubles titles as a team. Additionally, they have also won three Olympic gold medals for their country in women’s doubles. They both have achieved World Number 1 ranking in doubles.
