The 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams went through many relationships to finally find her soulmate in Alexis Ohanian. Williams met the Reddit cofounder in Rome at a time when there were widespread rumors of her dating Drake. They started seeing each other in 2016 and tied the knot a year after.

Things went pretty fast for the power couple, from their first meeting in 2015 to their eventual marriage in 2017. Understandably, Drake couldn’t adjust to the fact. He released a song to disclose his lingering emotions toward the 23-time Grand Slam champion. Here’s what he composed.

Drake wasn’t happy about Serena Williams’ engagement

In March 2017, the Canadian rapper launched his album ‘More Life’ and in one of the 22 songs in the album, he mentioned Serena. In the song titled ‘Nothings Into Somethings’, Drake said, “I’m still posted up where you first found me.“

“Did I just read that you just got engaged on me? I heard from your friend, you couldn’t even tell me. Least, do I get an invitation or something? A statement or something?”

Later in November that year, the former World No.1 exchanged vows with Ohanian and fans were sharp enough to join the dots. Williams and Drake never actually made their alleged relationship public. They became the talk of the town because of the rappers’ consistent hints about their rumored relationship on social media.

In the mid-2010s, after her breakup with the rapper Common, Drake started mentioning Serena in his tweets. He attended her matches and even dedicated a verse of his 2013 single ‘Worst Behavior’ to her. However, when Ohanian appeared, the entire picture changed. One might think now that the couple has a kid and is happily married, and Drake would have moved on. But the answer is no, as his latest song, ‘Middle of the Ocean’, took a dig at Ohanian.

The tennis legend Williams and the co-founder of Reddit might have seemed like an odd pairing from the outside, but they have many similarities. The renowned personalities are completely different, but their interests are the same. Both are Marvel fans and love the comics of the franchise. In fact, they have their own collections and were more than happy to attend the new Thor movie’s premier a few months ago.

Further, they both have an interest in soccer, particularly women’s soccer. The entire family, Williams, Ohanian, and their five-year-old daughter Olympia are co-owners of the Los Angeles-based NWSL team, Angel City FC. The father-daughter duo are often seen at the team’s matches and now that Williams is also free, she might join them as well.
