In order to achieve important goals, such as being a successful tennis player, she made sure to remain rigorous when it came to her training regimen. She even continued to lead a strict lifestyle, even after retiring from tennis. But after becoming a mother last year, many things changed. She continues to make consistent changes in her routine, which also includes her son. Now, she and her former rival, Serena Williams, are for the first time on the same page.

When the American tennis legend opened up about her struggle as a first-time mother; it was all about not giving her daughter enough time and attention. It appears that the Russian tennis star and her fierce rival are united in their struggles related to motherhood.

Staying fit is a huge part of the five-time Grand Slam champion’s life. Even after having a baby, she returned to her daily exercises and fitness routine earlier than expected. And recently, in an interview with Self, the Russian tennis player talked about how she incorporates spending time with her son while trying to focus on her health and even following her daily fitness routine.

Sharapova talked about her favorite form of exercise, which is when Theodore joins her on her walks. She said, “He observes everything. You see it in their eyes, like, “Wow, this bird or this leaf. They’re discovering things in life for the first time.”

Along with that, she also stated that they even attend a ballet-inspired workout virtual class. Well, Sharapova is trying in her own way to be a good mother.

However, balancing personal commitments with spending valuable time with children can be a tough task. And not spending a proper amount of time can be frustrating for new mothers. Talking about the same last year, the 23-time Grand Slam champion opened up about feeling guilty of not spending enough time with her child after becoming a mother in 2017.

When Serena Williams opened up about her guilt phase

In an interview with The Insider, the 41-year-old former tennis player discussed balancing taking care of herself and being a mother at the same time. Williams was upfront about her experience with experiencing ‘mother’s guilt’. According to an American folktale, mothers are always doubting themselves when it comes to doing a good job taking care of their newborn children.
