For players, moving with and being in the same mental space as their partner should be an essential trait. Players usually choose their best friends or even siblings as their partners as they vibe together. Like Serena Williams – Venus Williams, Serena – Caroline Wozniacki, and Bob Bryan – Mike Bryan. It was the twenty-four-year-old who first answered the question. Pegula said, “Strengths and weaknesses? None.” This time it was the reporter who joked, “Not any strengths?” to which the player answered, “No, I mean no weaknesses.” Speaking of Gauff’s strengths, Pegula said that the serve and movements, given the teenager’s athletic nature, are just perfect.
Gauff, on the other hand, revealed that Pegula’s forehand cross-court, the return, and her calmness are some of her biggest positives. As far as Pegula’s singles campaign is concerned, the former world number three reached the quarter-finals of the Grass Slam for the first time in her career. She beat Lesia Tsurenko in straight sets and will play Marketa Vondrousova in her next match.
