Coco Gauff Shows Her Mischievous Side At Wimbledon With ‘Tiktok’ Dig At Jessica Pegula In An Attempt To Uncover Her Doubles Partner’s Weaknesses

For players, moving with and being in the same mental space as their partner should be an essential trait. In the recent era, Coco Gauff – Jessica Pegula are ruling the category, being best friends off the court. The off-court bond between the doubles partners was particularly epitomized in their latest post-match interview.

The American duo won their recent doubles match in the Wimbledon Championships, and Gauff had a hilarious answer when asked about Pegula’s weakness.

The duo won their second round of match against Andrea Gamez – Anastasia Detiuc, 6-4, 1-6, 4-6. In the post-match interview, both were asked to reveal each other’s strengths and weaknesses. While Pegula naively answered the exact things, Gauff pulled her best friend’s leg, and the internet loved their moment.

The nineteen-year-old opined that Pegula needs to stay updated about the current trends of not the game but TikTok! This sense of humor of Gauff was so wholesome and had the whole crowd laughing, along with her best friend. The teenager told ESPN, “Her weakness – she needs to get up-to-date on the TikTok trends.”

The teenage sensation is very active on TikTok and enjoys the app to the core. For a moment, the third seed was taken aback as she thought her best friend was actually dictating her weaknesses. Gauff, being her jovial self, shared this on her Instagram story and captioned it, “lol 😂 @jpegula you gotta stay up to date on the trends.” The duo even complimented each other, which shows how aware they are of each other.

It was the twenty-four-year-old who first answered the question. Pegula said, “Strengths and weaknesses? None.” This time it was the reporter who joked, “Not any strengths?” to which the player answered, “No, I mean no weaknesses.” Speaking of Gauff’s strengths, Pegula said that the serve and movements, given the teenager’s athletic nature, are just perfect.

Gauff, on the other hand, revealed that Pegula’s forehand cross-court, the return, and her calmness are some of her biggest positives. As far as Pegula’s singles campaign is concerned, the former world number three reached the quarter-finals of the Grass Slam for the first time in her career. She beat Lesia Tsurenko in straight sets and will play Marketa Vondrousova in her next match.
