Recently, after the mid-match collapse of the Buffalo Bills’ safety, Billie Jean King tweeted in support of the NFL player. Moreover, the tennis legends also took the moment to shed light on the community service that Hamlin was involved in, even before he was drafted by the NFL.

The legend tweeted, “Damar Hamlin of the ⁦@BuffaloBills is committed to public service. He formed a nonprofit before he was even drafted by the NFL. The Chasing M’s Foundation Community Toy Drive has raised over $5M in the last 24 hours. This is the power of sports.”

Hamlin started a GoFundMe with the goal of raising $2500 to buy toys for children in underserved communities. After the NFL star’s unfortunate incident, the campaign gained speed and raised a whopping amount of more than $5 million.

King mentioned how the dynamic and massive support reflected the power sports have in uniting people.

However, the veteran tennis legend is not the only tennis sports person to support Damar. Recently, Coco Gauff took to social media, wishing for Damar’s speedy recovery.

Referring to the situation to be bigger than sports, the young American tennis sensation extended her support to Damar and strength to his family.
