Sports is usually fun and exciting to watch, but there are times when tragedy strikes on the field. And recently, during an NFL match, a similar incident happened. The American football star, Damar Hamlin, suffered a cardiac arrest in the middle of a match after he was tackled by an opponent. After the horrifying incident that was witnessed by millions on live TV, fans, family, and several renowned personalities wished for Hamlin’s speedy recovery. And one of them was the American tennis prodigy, Coco Gauff.

The teenage tennis sensation took to Twitter in support of the NFL star and wished for his quick recovery.

Young Coco Gauff sends out a heartfelt message for Hamlin

The heart-breaking mid-match tragedy shook the sports world. And as Hamlin continues to be in critical state, the 18-year-old American tennis sensation extended a heart-warming message of support to the Buffalo Bulls safety. The current WTA World No. 7 tweeted, “Sending my prayers to Damar and his family❤️ I ‘m wishing him a full and safe recovery. It is bigger than sports… we should all continue to surround him and his family with prayer and positivity🙏🏾”

In addition to Twitter, Gauff put a story on Instagram in support of Hamlin.

Injuries are a part of sports, however, life-threatening incidents in sports are very rare, as world-class safety precautions are taken when athletes step on the field to represent their team or country. Hence, the unanticipated cardiac-arrest of Hamlin caused ripples around the sporting world, and not just the NFL.

And the young tennis prodigy, displaying such maturity and support during critical times, certainly reflects her strong sense of sportsmanship. However, this wasn’t the only time the teenager had displayed her compassionate nature.

Young Gauff’s mature behavior over the years

This wasn’t a standalone incident where Gauff displayed maturity above her age. There have been other instances where Gauff took to Instagram to pay tribute, or remind people to take care. And one such incident involves the demise of the famous the Ellen DeGeneres Show’s DJ, Stephen ‘Twitch’ Boss. Following his sudden demise, Gauff posted a heart-warming message for people to support their family and friends.
