Teenager Coco Gauff Urges for Inclusivity as She Reveals the Challenges of Being a Gen-Z Athlete Playing Tennis

Coco Gauff is a rising star in tennis, and her unfluctuating determination has inspired her generation of black Americans to continue progressing toward a new horizon. Talking about the challenges that she thinks still continues in the minds of people, Gauff shared her perspective on how to think beyond ‘colors’.

The history of tennis has seen the reign of mostly white Americans. It is only in the past few decades that tennis has expanded its reach and celebrated the participation of diverse cultures.

Referring to a book that she recently read, Coco Gauff shared her insights on how to discard the idea of discrimination based on color. Being a Gen-Z player herself, Gauff resonates with all the youngsters who are waiting for the world to progress towards more inclusivity. She encouraged people to embrace the differences in culture and society to make the world a better place.

“And I think for me it is important to not be colour blind in race and you know I think for me the whole thing is I don’t see colours, a little bit dumb, because we are all different we should be able to see the differences we have and that what makes the world great,” Gauff said in a podcast interview.

By seeing colors as a unifying force rather than a dividing one, Gauff demonstrates her stance against racism. While talking about the ethnic diversity of the world, she said, If everybody was the same, it would be, I feel like boring.”

Born in 2004, Coco Gauff made a prominent name in tennis with her remarkable talent. At a very young age, she started her journey, showcasing her extraordinary performance to the world.

Gauff on promoting diverse cultures around the world

In the podcast, Coco Gauff also revealed her desire to uplift not only her culture but also the different cultures of the world. In an interview, Gauff said, I want to continue to um uplift not just my culture but everybody’s culture um, like yes we are different but what can be learned from each other and how can we improve each other’s um lives and everything.”

Her perspective on how to celebrate each other’s culture by breaking the barrier of color shows her progressive ideals in the same. Coco Gauff, with her exceptional talent in tennis, also promises hope and change that can expand beyond the realm of sports and can encourage people from different cultures to reshape the narrative of racism in sports.
