“A Total Abysmal Failure” – Chris Jericho on the Brief Wednesday Night War Between AEW and WWE NXT

All Elite Wrestling has proven itself to be a legitimate rival for the previously unmatched popularity of WWE. Ever since its inception, fans feel that AEW has provided better content than WWE has in years. The addition of wrestling legends such and Chris Jericho, Mark Henry, and Sting, have also greatly contributed to its popularity.
AEW’s weekly show, AEW Dynamite airs on Wednesday, same as WWE’s NXT. And thus began the Wednesday Night War between WWE and AEW. AEW proved its worth by defeating NXT’s ratings. Speaking with “ITRWrestling.com” on the subject, Chris Jericho feels the war was a total failure for NXT.

“We’re not worried about what WWE is and we haven’t been since day one. We weren’t worried about what NXT did. The whole time with the NXT vs. AEW war, which ended in a total abysmal failure for NXT, we never once had a TV screen watching what they were doing when we were doing it.
“We didn’t know what segments they were in. We didn’t know any of that. Now, the WWE way is you’re watching what the competition is doing when they were on, we didn’t do that. It was no disrespect. We just didn’t care.
“We were too busy worrying about our own company and about our own stories, and about our own show to care what anybody else is doing. And that’s one of the reasons why we did so well is that we were concentrating on AEW, not anything else.”

Ever since WCW was finished, no other wrestling company could even come close to WWE, be it in ratings or popularity or talent level. AEW has shouldered this massive pressure and thrived it in.

Chris Jericho feels it’s the money that counts
Continuing the conversation Le Champion revealed that the WWE has billions of dollars locked in TV deals and AEW is working towards that. He feels that when their demo ends up beating NXT and TV deals start coming in for them at the billions, there will be a lot of competition because now they’re fighting for money.
