After making his return to the WWE at the Royal Rumble 2020, fans were expecting a long second run from Edge. Despite having some great storylines and creating the Judgment Day, Edge left the company in September 2023. This surprising development occurred after his contract with the company expired. However, this would not be the last time fans would see him inside a squared circle as he signed on with AEW.

Edge made his AEW debut at WrestleDream 2023 to the AEW faithful’s approval. In the latest edition of AEW Dynamite, Copeland paid tribute to a friend by replicating a particular moveset.

Since his debut in AEW, Copeland had his eyes on one man, former WWE Champion and friend, Christian. Going under the name Christian Cage in AEW, he is the current AEW TNT Champion in his first reign. Despite being friends in the WWE and in real life, Cage was not so happy to see Copeland and started a feud.

While fans believed Copeland would play the heel he was in the WWE and join forces with Cage, AEW had different plans. Despite Copeland trying to make Cage understand that his teammates would not always be by his side, Cage didn’t listen. Using the Judgment Day as an example, Cage told Copeland that he didn’t know how to run a stable.

This feud resulted in their epic showdown on AEW Dynamite. However, during this match, Adam Copeland pulled out a move from the arsenal of another close WWE friend of his. This was the 10 Beats of the Bodhrán. This move belongs to Sheamus, who was the last opponent Copeland wrestled against in his last match in the WWE.

Copeland’s AEW debut was received positively, and his current run has gained much attention. While WWE fans were unhappy with his departure, Triple H had a different perspective.

With Edge getting a massive pop and love from the fans during his return and second run in the WWE, fans were shocked when he decided to leave. However, Hunter had some positive words about it. He said. “ I think he said it the other day, there’s no animosity here, there are no hard feelings. He’s doing what’s right for him and his family and I’m happy for him. Very, very happy for him.”
