CM Punk Feels Like Trash Since Returning to Wrestling in AEW

Recently, former WWE champion and current AEW Star CM Punk expressed his thoughts after returning to wrestling. Punk is one of the most loved WWE Superstar of all time. His past matches in WWE have always made the fans go crazy.

Punk is a former 2-time WWE champion. His (2011-2013) reign as a WWE champion was astonishing, with many twists and turns in his title defense.

CM Punk was out of action since he was released from the WWE in 2014. Later, he made some appearances in Freelancing Wrestling shows. Recently, though, on August 2021, Punk made his debut in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) at Rampage’s First Dance event. His AEW debut made the fans happy with his in-ring return and Punk is now an active star of AEW.

CM Punk opens about feeling like trash since returning to Wrestling

Punk returned to wrestling after a long time. However, he is someone who has been a professional wrestler for a long time and knows how to win. Recently, the veteran wrestler talked about how it felt like to return after such a long hiatus.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, he spoke candidly about his return from the ring and the feeling of his return. He admitted, “Oh, I feel like trash, I’ll be honest.” He further said, “I’m 42 years old and I haven’t taken bumps in seven-plus years. I think there’s something to building up a callus, to something you do on a regular basis becoming easier because you do it on a regular basis.”

“I think a lot of wrestlers are feeling this right now. The pandemic, when it shut everything down and it essentially killed house-show business — they’re not on the road, they’re not taking bumps Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday — I think everybody kind of felt this awfulness of ‘Oh man, I’m wrestling less-frequently than I used to,’ (but) it feels worse somehow.” 

 Punk answers about his reason to return

Punk also revealed that one of the major reasons he returned was because of the appealing schedule to the wrestlers. He explained how the pandemic made some changes in the schedule for the wrestlers. This change made a proper balance for wrestlers.

CM Punk is now the top star of AEW, with a record of 3 wins so far. He showed his potential in the singles match. On the last week’s Rampage, Punk defeated Daniel Garcia. He is set to have a match against Matt Sydal in the upcoming week’s Rampage.
