Cody Rhodes is one of the top players of All Elite Wrestling. The top management may consist of the Young bucks, Brandi Rhodes and Kenny Omega, but the main man is Cody Rhodes.

He is a multi-time World Champion, a Royal Rumble winner, and has been part of moments cemented in history. Additionally, he has wrestled for ten promotions in his 31-year career.

Rey Mysterio has been loved and admired in whichever promotion he walked into. The Master of the 619 has been a heel just once, showing how good he is on and off the camera.

Mysterio has a high flying and innovative style of ring work. The unpredictable and high-risk style never failed to amaze the Pro Wrestling faithful.

AEW has signed as many as 10  former WWE Superstars, some names being Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Matt Hardy, and recently Matt Cardona. As Rey Mysterio’s contract is coming up, Tony Khan and Cody Rhodes certainly won’t mind signing another WWE Wrestler.

Cody Rhodes feels Rey Mysterio still has a lot to offer

In an interview with ESPN, Cody Rhodes speaks about his desire to bring Mysterio to AEW. The American nightmare also spoke about how Mysterio having many friends in AEW can help him land a deal with the company.

“To me, the greatest luchador ever, of all time — hands down — is Rey Mysterio Jr. And he’s got friends here. Jericho and him are friends. Mysterio is not afraid to travel out there, either. He’s not a one-company individual. And I think Rey still has a lot left to give in terms of wrestling. That might be something that someone else is currently discussing with him at this point. You never know.”

Mysterio has been in an intense rivalry with Seth Rollins recently, after many years. However, with WWE always looking towards the future, it is unlikely Rey Mysterio will get the main event run.
