Jumping ships isn’t the easiest in the pro-wrestling industry especially if it’s from WWE to AEW and back to WWE. Now, recently, Cody Rhodes teased a possible WWE return, but it was more of a fan-assumption.

However, he may have revealed exactly what the situation is for him at the moment. He showed off his retirement life and it’s creating cherished memories with his daughter, Liberty.

It doesn’t seem like Rhodes is actually coming back to WWE regardless of what the fans thought. Some believed he wouldn’t make a move to WWE, but to other promotions such as New Japan Pro-Wrestling or IMPACT, but the man has other ideas.

Now, making the decision to hang the boots does not happen overnight. It’s something the pro-wrestlers ponder over for a while before making the call. And, it’s for various reasons.

For example, The Undertaker quit because he knew his body couldn’t do what it could in his prime. Stone Cold Steve Austin retired because of several injuries, especially a serious neck injury. It’s possible Cody Rhodes decided to retire after failing to negotiate a new contract with AEW.

Now, he is beginning a new chapter of his life which mostly revolves around his daughter.

While his retirement is a bitter-sweet emotion for the pro-wrestling fans, Rhodes’ always wanted to be active in the industry till he was 40-years-old. As of June 2022, he will be 37-years-old, leaving three more years of possible wrestling in the cards.

However, if he does retire early, and he decides not to return to WWE or move over to any other promotion, he could focus on his next career choice – running for Senate.
