WWE was a part of one of the biggest mergers in sports entertainment history. The Stamford-based promotion merged with UFC, forming a singular entity, TKO Group Holdings. Even though they will be functioning separately, they will be controlled by parent company Endeavor.

But with this merger came a piece of bad news. Several office staff and in-ring talents were released from the promotion. One such released star has sparked rumors about joining hands with Tony Khan as he had made a massive purchase.

What could an expensive Mercedes mean?

The star in question here is the former tag team partner of Randy Orton, Matt Riddle, who recently made a lavish purchase. The Original Bro posted a picture of his new Mercedes on Instagram. In the picture, the 37-year-old star was seen posing along with his partner, Misha Montana. Along with that, he was seen holding a bag which might probably contain goodies from the new purchase. With that, he wrote a caption, “RIDDLE OG”, boasting about his lifestyle.

Riddle was signed by WWE back in 2018. The former Evolve champion portrayed a stereotypical, carefree character and won the hearts of the audience. In 2021, he formed a tag team with Randy Orton, calling themselves RK-Bro. They went on to win the Raw Tag Team Championship title at SummerSlam 2021. Riddle was one of the 18 stars who was released on September 21st, 2023, following the merger due to alleged ‘budget cuts’.

Almost a month after he was released, Riddle made this huge purchase. This has led to the speculation that he might be signing a deal with WWE’s rival promotion, AEW.

Did AEW get a good deal?

Since his release, there has been speculation that Riddle might be secured by AEW. Riddle became an instant hit due to his devil-may-care attitude and Khan needs more people like this in his promotion. With AEW already having MJF, the stars could form an alliance or a defiance. Both will be equally interesting for the audience as the stars are known for their snarky humor. However, AEW might not be on his cards right now as he has other business to tend to.

Two weeks ago from now, Riddle had made a huge announcement. He might be taking some time off to start his own business. On his Instagram, he has announced that he will be launching his own strain of cannabis under the name Riddle OG. The WWE alumni will be joining the likes of many stars who own businesses of their own.

But as there is still time for his business to launch, fans are speculating that this purchase might be from the massive paycheck he has received from AEW ahead of his joining. Do you think that is the case?
