What was once a defensive rant by Tony Khan on the ‘Double Standards’ of pro wrestling fans has molded into a proper social media feud. Defending his idea of putting Hook into the title picture against Samoa Joe, he referenced the move of WWE pushing Jinder Mahal to face Seth Rollins despite having a terrible winning record.

With Mahal replying to the tweet earlier as well as some veterans of the sports defending him, it seems like the ‘Modern Day Maharaja’ has something more to add against Tony Khan.

Jinder Mahal: the Greatest of All Time

While others need to tweet out their opinions for the Maharaja, this isn’t always the case. A recent tweet by Twitter user @patricktheheel revealed that Jinder Mahal has announced himself as the greatest of all time as an answer to Tony Khan’s criticism of him. Rather than a tweet, he simply put a ‘Goat’ emoji in his Twitter bio. (Talk about being subtle.).

It would be fun to see how Khan reacts to it, as he has confirmed in the latest edition of AEW Homecoming that he will be going ahead with the idea of Hook facing Samoa Joe for the title next week on Dynamite.

Will we get to see a new champion?

With it confirmed that Hook and Samoa Joe will be squaring off next week on Dynamite, the question that looms is: will we get to see a new champion? Considering Hook’s 28-1 professional wrestling record, he does look like a really strong contender, and AEW would not like to add a loss to his brilliant record. One cannot count out the dominance of the mighty Samoan. ‘The human submission machine’ is considered one of the most dominant wrestlers of all time, and add to that his cold attitude, and you get a combination to create an in-ring demon that is Samoa Joe.

Another factor that can help mighty Joe retain his championship title is that both ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Swerve Strickland are willing to face the 44-year-old. In the latest edition of Dynamite Homecoming, both Page and Strickland came out to the ring and let their thoughts known.

Strickland claimed that it’s not personal, but he will be taking the title off Joe this year. Page, on the other hand, claimed that 2023 held a lot for him, and now the title will be his. He recounted how he beat Jon Moxley in a Texas deathmatch and reunited with the Elite in Anarchy in the Arena and Blood & Guts. So a triple threat between the three is more likely to be a bigger draw than giving Hook the title.
