For most of his career, Brock Lesnar was known as a freak of nature. The sheer brute force Lesnar demonstrated during his initial run in the company made him a legit monster. With Lesnar’s recent shocking farmer-style appearance in WWE, one AEW star drew similarities to their upbringing that could be the reason for this change.

Most people know that Lesnar lives on a ranch and loves his privacy, but many do not know he had humble beginnings on a farm. But which other wrestler had a similar upbringing story?

On the latest episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the Broken One talked about his and his brother’s life and upbringing similar to that of Brock Lesnar. He began by saying, “I think there’s a lot of similarities with the upbringing of myself and my brother and Brock.” This referred to the simple country, farmland upbringing the three have had.

He said, “It also teaches you kind of the rewards of hard work.” This was in context to being a farmer raised on farmland with manual labor as a daily chore. According to Matt, this simple life taught him and his brother that the harder you work, the sweeter the rewards will be.

The two brothers grew their vegetables and food on their farmland. Matt and Jeff even helped their parents cook. This helped shape the two of them into the superstars they are today. This is among the other similarities they share with Lesnar.

Matt continued by talking about how working on a farm humbled him and his brother. It taught them to work hard and be grateful for what they had. He continued, “We both came from very humble beginnings.” Matt and Jeff were raised on a tobacco plantation in North Carolina.

Meanwhile, Lesnar and his siblings were raised on a dairy farm in South Dakota. This rural lifestyle helped shape all three wrestlers into what they are today.

Matt and Jeff were tasked to make Lesnar look good

Lesnar today is known as The Beast Incarnate. This is thanks to his matches during his initial years in the WWE. While there have been many large-sized, muscular wrestlers in the WWE, very few have left quite a mark like Lesnar. The dominance he showcased and still does is something to marvel at. This is also partly due to the opponents who know how to sell his attacks.

According to Matt, he and Jeff made sure that Lesnar looked good in the ring. Although the trio are around the same age, Jeff and Matt were already part of the WWE when Lesnar debuted. Matt talked about the bumps he and his brother took to make Lesnar look like a force of nature. He said the two ensured that Lesnar would be built up to be a Beast that the WWE wanted.
