The rumor mill runs rampant of Sasha Banks a.k.a Mercedes Mone’s entry into AEW. With the latest announcement by Tony Khan about AEW Dynamite: Big Business, the fans are even more excited. But how will Khan book her, and what are the upcoming possibilities for the former ‘Boss?’ And who will she debut as?

Since the name Sasha Banks belongs to the WWE, we can summarize that the former WWE star won’t make her debut with that moniker. Mercedes Justine Kaestner-Varnado (her real name) gels well with Mercedes Mone. So she could take up the familiar mantle or explore an unexplored space.

When it comes to her debut, we have a bit of confirmation that it could happen in the next episode of AEW Dynamite, which will take place in Boston. As reports indicate, Banks is already in Boston or has been seen in Boston already, so it is safe to say that she is already filming stuff there for maybe a promo.

The debut could be along the lines of Jade Cargill’s debut, which took place on November 11, 2020. She did not have an in-ring match and interrupted Cody Rhodes. This exact scenario could transpire at Dynamite. On the off chance Khan wants to debut the star and capitalize on the buzz, she could have an in-ring appearance during a match.

Banks gained massive popularity in the WWE from her time on NXT. Being a part of the four Horsewomen of NXT, she rose to become one of the best performers on the roster. Despite her bouts with injuries, she retained the love and adulation of the wrestling faithful. Since her departure, fans have been waiting for her return to the WWE or debut in AEW.

This has created an aura of mystery for her future, which has increased her traction on social media. Khan is sure to make use of this current popularity in the same way he did CM Punk. While a surprise entry could send AEW fans into raptures, a prior announcement could be made to drive up sales.

My passion for professional wrestling began when I saw Kane ripping the Hell in a Cell door off in the iconic 1997 match. I used to enjoy watching WWE re-runs at 5 in the evening when I got home from school. It was sort of a ritual for me.
