Even if you are a fan of somebody’s work, it doesn’t mean that you would want to be in their shoes. Baseball legend John Kruk‘s life story does a good job of testifying to this. Although Kruk built a good reputation for himself in the baseball world as an MLB star, the retired athlete is a huge fan of one more sport. Turns out Kruk has been a pro wrestling fan for a long while.

Despite being a ‘fan-boy’ for pro wrestling, particularly WWE, Kruk never wanted to join the industry. The reason behind it was revealed in a podcast with Corey Graves recently. You might be shocked to know that he credits the likes of Hulk Hogan for the same.

It is important to remember that Kruk’s height is 5’10” tall. This is significant for noting down why the baseball player did not wish to become a pro wrestler. In the recent episode of the podcast, ‘After the Bell’, Kruk appeared as a guest. A big reason for his appearance was the fact that the three times MLB All-Star has been a long-term WWE fan.

However, he had an interesting reply when Graves asked him the reason for not pursuing a career in pro wrestling. After admitting his average height as a factor, Kruk said, “I can’t imagine walking in the ring with Stone Cold or Hulk Hogan or someone like that and just getting annihilated. No, I’m not into that.

I like watching people get the crap beaten out of them more like than the c**p beaten out of myself,” the athlete added.

The MLB legend made this confession in a hilarious manner that made Graves laugh out loud. The WWE commentator understood and validated his emotions. After all, both Steve Austin and Hogan were ring dominators during their prime time in pro wrestling.

This doesn’t mean that The Hulkster’s career did not come without fear. In fact, Hogan was scared of another WWE legend during his time in the promotion.

Who was Hulk Hogan scared of during his wrestling years?

At the beginning of their feud, Hogan was scared of the pro wrestling legend Andre the Giant. The reason most lied in the inaugural Hall of Famer’s physicality. His massive size wasn’t merely a show, but the wrestler was indeed strong. So, at first, Hogan was afraid that Andre might ‘break him in half’ during a match. Since Hogan ultimately had to face ‘The Giant’ one day, he had to get over his fear.

The former wrestler eventually got over his fear of Andre, making him a stronger wrestler than ever before. But John Kruk’s resume suggests that he was never able to get over his fear of the pro wrestling industry.
