WWE Hall of Famer Recently Praised Simone Johnson Aka Ava Raine, Daughter of Dwayne Johnson

Ava Raine is finally a WWE superstar and is having a good run on NXT. Unlike her father Dwayne Johnson, she didn’t start as a baby face in WWE. Instead, she joined a cult-like stable Schism and is cementing her name as a heel.

However, Simone Johnson seems to have surprised several major people backstage, and one of those is the Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative.

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels holds that position in the company. Ahead of NXT, Deadline HBK spoke exclusively to Metro UK where he praised Simone Johnson aka Ava Raine. It impressed the man who once worked with her father Dwayne Johnson in WWE.

Michaels said, “I think from a character standpoint, she’s been a real kick in the shorts for the Schism, and I think she’s doing fantastic. We were just talking about it the other day. Her facials, she looks fantastic, she’s really getting comfortable – I think that’s the most important thing. She’s really beginning to, as we say, get into this character and enjoy the process.”

It seems Raine is impressing the right people in NXT. She is taking it slow and making the fans enjoy her run in WWE until now, since she made her professional wrestling debut. Furthermore, there is much more yet to come.

While praising the first fourth-generation WWE superstar, Michaels reflected on the charisma she has in the ring. He recalled The Rock having the same charisma in the ring when he was an active WWE star.

The WWE Hall of Famer said, “For us, it’s just very exciting to have her plugged into the Schism, and for her to be just enjoying that role, getting comfortable with it, looking natural. 

He added, “It’s not looking difficult for her to do, she doesn’t seem to be struggling. I think she’s really gaining confidence as well, and that’s so important to this.”

As of now, she is paired up with Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid, and Joe Gacy on Schism. Clearly, she has impressed the fans too and the WWE Universe is rooting for her.

Shawn Michaels on why Ava Raine is yet to make an in-ring debut

One of the highlights Michaels talked about was Raine’s pending in-ring debut. Until now she is coming to the show and cutting promos as part of Schism. Michaels is happy with the performance center report on her in-ring skills.

The former WWE Champion said, “From an in-ring standpoint, I guess I would have to ask one of the coaches on that. I think, with everybody, she’s developing and working at an absolutely great pace. I always throw back to “No news is good news”, and from every report that I read, it’s fantastic and successful.”

He didn’t give exact details on her in-ring debut. However, Raine had already put the entire women’s division before her NXT debut at a house show. Only time will tell what the future holds in WWE, where her father became the most electrifying superstar ever.
