The Hall of Famer had retired from WWE following a neck injury in 2011. Fans were devastated by this news. However, they were pleasantly shocked when Edge returned during the 2020 Royal Rumble. The WWE Universe was overjoyed to see the return of their true WWE Heavyweight Champion.

However, Edge recently said goodbye to the WWE once again on 18th August 2023 after his current contract came to an end. Edge recently took to social media and spoke openly to his fans. Edge said, “There’s no hard feelings between me and WWE. I love WWE. It’s my dream gig. It’s all I ever wanted to do and I didn’t come out of some crazy contract or anything. And they didn’t deny me.”

Edge also hinted at a comeback by saying, “Another contract extension is still in my inbox. I just don’t know what to do.” While these lines indicate that Edge may return to the WWE, several fans also think that he may join AEW. It was also reported that WWE didn’t want to meet Edge’s demands in his new contract, which may indicate a move away from his proverbial wrestling home.

The indecision on Edge’s part despite being handed a contract extension isn’t sitting right with the WWE Universe. Edge didn’t make any direct mention of AEW. However, Edge did say he wanted to enjoy life and raise his kid.

Edge spoke to his fans via social media and said, “The first time I wanted to retire, it was forced, and this time, the choice is in my lap and it’s a lot harder.” He also mentioned that a lot of people are asking him to retire at a bigger event. However, Edge discarded all these free pieces of advice and said that his fight in Toronto was a very memorable one. “It was the best night of my career,” said the Hall of Famer.
