While there is a divisive stance among fans about Ronda Rousey, there is no denying her star power. The Baddest Woman on the Planet was a prime target for WWE due to her mainstream appeal. Despite that, over the years in WWE, the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion has struggled a lot with finding a decent fan following among the wrestling fanbase.

But that could all change with this recent heel return and a new championship reign. That was the plan, but recently Rousey came out with an arm sling on SmackDown and her WrestleMania plans changed drastically. But how did Rousey get herself hurt this close to WrestleMania 39?

Then she revealed, “Well, after thousands of dislocations (I thought not tapping out to armbars and tearing ligaments was cool in my teens) my elbow finally fractured simply by slapping the mat in Rockford, Illinois- right before WrestleMania.

After that, the Royal Rumble 2022 winner threatened the WWE women’s division. In the end, she hints at a potential return before Mania less than two weeks from now.

But now the question remains, where will WWE fit Rousey in the WrestleMania 39 match card?

Troubles caused by Rousey’s ACL injury in WrestleMania 39 plans

Before Rousey got injured, there were rumors about Rousey and Shayna Baszler challenging for the Women’s Tag Team Champion. The former UFC women have been teaming up at SmackDown for the past few months. But as of this Monday Night Raw, the champions are already in another match.

But there was a new four-way tag team match announced at WrestleMania 39. This past SmackDown, one team has already made its way to the card. While there has been no announcement of a match involving Baszler and Rousey, there will be soon after the “vengeance is coming” line from Rousey’s post.

Due to her mainstream appeal, WWE inserted Rousey in WrestleMania every year when she was an active wrestler. Her name alone sells a lot of tickets. So, it’s obvious that the company would add Rousey to the match. Also, her win will justify a shot at the champion later down the line.
