After Dwayne Johnson Settled His Real Life Differences With Vin Diesel, Hobbs Is Set to Take On Jason Momoa’s Dante Reyes on Screen

The Fast & Furious is one of the most successful film franchises in the industry. The films from the franchise depict the depths of brotherhood. Meanwhile, fans are well aware of the public feud between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel. And now, after the success of Fast X, fans are excited to see the collision of Luke Hobbs and Dante Reyes.

Jason Momoa played the role of ‘Dante Reyes’, the sociopathic son of ‘Hernan Reyes’. Momoa’s role as the antagonist has received much praise since Fast X’s release. Since Dwayne Johnson is gearing up to reprise the role of ‘Luke Hobbs’ in the future installment of the movie, a showdown between the two characters is guaranteed.

Despite the tensions between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel, the duo reportedly ironed out their differences when The Rock announced his comeback to the franchise. By the looks of it, Fast X’s spinoff called Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Reyes will be centered around the rivalry between Luke Hobbs and Dante Reyes, leaving Vin Diesel out of the picture. 

After Fast X, all eyes are on Jason Momoa. In a Twitter video, Dwayne Johnson talked about Momoa’s Dante character and warned his fans that “business is about to pick up“.

Dante Reyes is looking to avenge the death of his father, Hernan Reyes. The drug lord was shot dead by Luke Hobbs in the fifth installment of the film, Fast 5. After 12 years, Dante has set out to exact revenge on Dwayne Johnson. Dante Reyes is evolving as the meanest antagonist in the Fast & Furious franchise. It will be interesting to see the much-awaited showdown between Hobbs and Reyes.

Nevertheless, Vin Diesel recently confirmed that Fast & Furious will be ready to ride off into the sunset after delivering three more parts. The final trilogy will see the franchise reach a definitive conclusion.

Dwayne Johnson’s comeback in the franchise garnered a lot of eyeballs, especially after his history with Vin Diesel. 

Dwayne Johnson once called Vin Diesel’s approach to bring the former back to the franchise “manipulation”

Dwayne Johnson was last seen in the, The Fate of the Furious film. During the shooting, Johnson publicly took shots at Vin Diesel for arriving late for the shoot. Not long after, he announced his exit from the franchise.

In 2021, Vin Diesel attempted to clear the air with Johnson by calling him his “little brother” and an “uncle” to his kids. Reportedly, Diesel also roped in the late Paul Walker, which Johnson seemingly didn’t like.

Johnson then told CNN that he made it very clear to Vin Diesel that he never intends to return to the franchise. Moreover, The Red Notice actor called Vin Diesel’s public plea for Johnson’s return a manipulation. He said, “Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding.”
