Edge recently celebrated his 25th anniversary with WWE before bidding farewell with the promotion. The superstar had been wrestling in WWE since the mid-1990s, but would only formally join the promotion in 1998, and be placed in a feud against Gangrel, before joining him as a part of the Brood.

The stable of Edge, Christian, and Gangrel came to be known as the ‘Brood’ and portrayed the gimmick of vampires. Recently, after Edge announced parting ways with WWE, and rumors of him joining AEW rose, Gangrel put forward his own opinion.

The 54-year-old in his podcast, revealed that if Edge were to join AEW, would lead to him having a similar fate as CM Punk. He said, ” I just think why [would Edge join AEW]? That’s all. He’s Edge. What else are you gonna do? You’re Edge, you’re one of the greatest human beings in the world. I don’t wanna see him go there and become like how everybody looks at CM Punk or everything.”

CM Punk has a turmoil-filled career. After departing ways with WWE in 2014, he would have a stint in UFC, where Punk would find no success. However, in 2021, CM Punk would make his debut for AEW. Although things would go smoothly at first, it would soon turn into a sour relationship with many of the higher-ups in the company.

Gangrel would conclude with, “It seems like it’s turmoil and chaos, but maybe he can turn all that around.”  Edge is yet to decide on the future of his career, although despite rumors of him suffering a sour relationship with WWE, The Rated-R superstar denied all such claims.

Away from wrestling currently, Edge is currently enjoying the time of his life.
