Without a doubt, Dwayne Johnson is among the most exceptional communicators in the realm of sports entertainment. He emerged as one of the wittiest talkers alongside Stone Cold Steve Austin from the Attitude Era. Having said that, many stars have fallen victim to one of Johnson’s most iconic catchphrases. And one such star is also the current rising star, LA Knight.

Let’s admit it, LA Knight is a lot like The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Even his voice bears a striking resemblance to The Rock’s. However, Knight has his own unique personality despite being perceived as a Dwayne Johnson rip-off by his detractors. As a matter of fact, Knight has a history with The Rock.

Before LA Knight became the major attraction that he is today, he appeared in some TV series and reality shows, taking on minor roles. Knight was notably seen in the season two episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, starring as a bodybuilder alongside Terry Crews. Furthermore, in 2013, Knight, whose real name is Shaun Ricker, was a contestant on Dwayne Johnson’s reality TV show, The Hero.
The show featured 10 hopefuls competing against one another in a variety of tasks that tested their strength, intelligence, and morality. In one of the episodes, LA Knight fell for the iconic, “It doesn’t matter” catchphrase. Johnson sets the trap by throwing a question at Knight. An unsuspecting Knight then proceeds to answer The Rock, only to be immediately cut off by the “It doesn’t matter” line.

During an interview with talkSPORT, LA Knight recalled the incident from 10 years ago. He also relayed that he is looking for revenge on The Great One. On being asked if he would be excited to have a verbal showdown with Johnson, he said, “If that happens then we gotta do something physical right? He continued, “I don’t mind dropping the Rock on his head!

Knight then recalled the incident from 2013 and added, “I owe him one from about ten years ago when he hit me with ‘It Doesn’t Matter’ ten years ago so I owe him a little something.”

At this point, it remains to be seen if fans ever get the chance to see the two iconic wrestlers share the stage, given their history. At present, LA Knight is embroiled in a feud with The Miz. Interestingly, during his recent scathing promo on The Miz, LA Knight mentioned The Rock

The Million Dollar Champion did not win The Rock’s show. However, he took home a prize of $35,000. Anyway, amidst the heavy comparison between both figures, a WWE Hall of Famer recently buried LA Knight for lacking originality.
