John Cena and Dave Batista were two trailblazers of the WWE’s ruthless era. Relying on their individual talent and their electric chemistry, WWE handed them the coveted tag team championship back in 2008.

They have also shared sufficient ring time with each other in the relatively obscure world of OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) at the beginning of their career. While many fans might crave to witness a prospect of their reunion for one last time, there’s very little chance of that given Batista’s in-ring retirement. That said, the reunion can still happen between the former tag teammates even if it’s not inside the wrestling ring.

Well, to elaborate this further, both superstars have undertaken their journey to make it big in Hollywood after conquering the world of pro wrestling. John Cena has dabbled in various projects that have skyrocketed his mainstream appeal while Batista has aimed to shed a new skin with each of the roles he dons. From Army of the Dead to Guardians of the Galaxy, The Animal has given us several iconic roles. Now, it seems like he’s inching to give his acting career a whole new flair by joining director James Gunn for a spot in his new DCU. The speculation picked up steam after the actor was seen spending some alone time outside the DC studio.

DC has a well-documented history of utilizing outstanding talents for prominent roles. So, it’s not surprising for them to acquire an esteemed talent such as Batista to don one of their iconic superhero characters.

The Incredible Achievements of John Cena in WWE That Are Hard to Beat

On the flip side, John Cena has already been a valuable asset to the high-voltage franchise. His marquee role as the Peacemaker took the comic fans by storm and a sequel is already on the cards. Now it isn’t unlikely for Gunn to cast Cena and Batista together in a movie, putting their unified star power from the WWE days to the perfect use.

Besides, John Cena also seems to long to meet his old peer somewhere again in his professional realm.

John Cena recently revisited his old good days with Dave Batista through a rare footage

John Cena recently posted a clip from his OVW memory book on Twitter. The clip featured his fellow wrestler, Dave Batista. It showed John Cena wrestling against his former wrestling peer Bautista, who was a part of The OVW batch of 2002 alongside Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar. Dave Bautista was known by the ring name The Leviathan back then.

The Cenation Leader went nostalgic reminiscing about his cherished memories and wrote: “Have been able to create with @DaveBautista for many years, but I’ll always remember the memories of facing THE LEVIATHAN in an OVW ring! Another trip down memory lane on @tiktok_us! @WWE”.
