When it comes to being a babyface and underdog, there hasn’t been anyone quite like Becky Lynch. The Irish Lass rose to fame for her resilience and never-give-up attitude. Even after transforming into The Man, she’s been pegged as the underdog. This has put her up against several stars in the WWE who have played the heel. However, one such heel who isn’t with the company recently said that she was grateful for the time she had spent there.

Macey Estrella is grateful for her time in the WWE

Macey Estrella, better known as Lacey Evans in the WWE, was a former US Marine turned pro wrestler. Her work in the WWE spanned from 2016 to 2023. During this time, she had a memorable feud with Lynch in 2019. This led to a mixed tag team match featuring Evans and Corbin against Lynch and Seth Rollins. Unfortunately, she left the company in August 2023.

Despite her popularity with the WWE fans, Evans fell into a group of wrestlers that the WWE did not know how to handle. This led to her not being involved with the WWE program for months. Finally, she was let go by the company.

Taking to social media, she said, “Very greatful. For @wwe. For the talent. The opportunity. The fans.” This was in response to a comment someone had posted on social media regarding her leaving the company. This clearly shows that she had no hard feelings towards the WWE.

This issue arose when fans took Evan’s words out of context. Since the company let her go, fans believed she harboured negative feelings towards the company for what happened. However, she cleared the air online, saying there were no hard feelings.

What has Evans has been up to since her departure

Following in the footsteps of Mandy Rose, Evans joined the group of former WWE stars selling premium content for money. Rose generated $1 million with this business venture, and now, without a job, Evans tried her hand at this.

Unlike Rose, Evans started this venture after leaving the WWE. The trend of former WWE stars using subscription content to make a living is quite popular. This has been seen with other stars from AEW and Impact Wrestling as well.

One take at a time

My passion for professional wrestling began when I saw Kane ripping the Hell in a Cell door off in the iconic 1997 match. I used to enjoy watching WWE re-runs at 5 in the evening when I got home from school. It was sort of a ritual for me.
