Champions are cool. Champion makers are cooler. But fans often forget to validate the latter’s efforts. You can easily pinpoint a host of wrestling legends who went down in history as one of the most elite in-ring performers who ever existed in pro wrestling. But when it comes to their ultimate backers, their managers, who guided them throughout to the top, we mostly turn a blind eye to them unless the name reads Paul Heyman.

The 57-year-old WWE icon doesn’t wait to get his credit, he steps up; he claims it, and he ends up having it. A recently viral image on social media made The Wise Man of the Bloodline once again acknowledge himself for the value he brought to the table at WrestleMania 29.

Paul Heyman has made a name for himself as the marquee wrestling manager in the modern era. His alliances with Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and currently Roman Reigns cement his legacy. One of his pivotal WWE moments came around WrestleMania 29 where Heyman stood in the corner of two generational talents, CM Punk and Brock Lesnar on the same night. The segment came as a very special highlight to Heyman’s stellar WWE career. As most of the WWE world agrees, the standout WWE manager doesn’t have clients, he has his ‘guys’. And these quintessential Paul Heyman guys include Brock Lesnar and CM Punk before counting The Tribal Chief into the list. WrestleMania 29 brought out Heyman’s incredible ability to manage two of his talented guys in a single night. He backed up Punk in his historical WrestleMania match against The Undertaker and was in the corner to cheer Brock Lesnar when he squared off against Triple H.

One fan recently recollected those memories with a couple of old photos to heap praise on The Wise Man. The post didn’t go unnoticed by Heyman, who himself retweeted it with the caption, My significant (and RELEVANT) presence had to be a cool night for @WWE #WrestleMania itself. In two separate yet distinct prominent positions, I bestowed upon the Showcase of the Immortals the gift of me, bringing further value to the global brand known as the “Grandest Stage of ’em All!”

Despite being in Punk’s corner that night and seeing him fall to The Undertaker, Paul Heyman later supported the hard reality check WWE chose to give Punk that night.

The Deadman’s undefeated WrestleMania streak was a target object for many rousing superstars around 2013. CM Punk took his chance as well, but the company’s creative decided to pull the plug on his audacious endeavor. As a result, he failed to get under The Deadman’s skin. Justifying WWE’s reason for snubbing him, Punk’s former manager noted that despite having meticulous groundwork, some traits of his client’s original nature didn’t sit well with getting that big spot right then.

Nonetheless, while one Heyman guy missed his shot to shatter the iconic WrestleMania streak of The Phenom, his other client, Brock Lesnar, achieved the feat at WrestleMania 30, making unforgettable history.
