The HBO series Peacemaker was indeed the turning point for the DC Extended Universe. John Cena along with James Gunn and the talented cast, created the most loved superhero series in the DCEU storyline earlier this year.

However, with the recent Warner Discovery merger, there are massive changes in the DCEU. The fans wonder after shelving Batgirl, what the future holds for Cena and the second season of Peacemaker.

Thankfully, John Cena and James Gunn will work together again for Peacemaker 2. Even though there are numerous changes to the management and the upcoming films, Warner Discovery is happy with the success of the series.

This wasn’t surprising news that the franchise would renew the series for the second season. The first season did so well and attracted many new viewers. Moreover, taking Peacemaker Season 2 away would be a big mistake for a company that is already under scrutiny for some of its recent decisions.

The company recently cancelled all the plans for Batgirl. Moreover, DC Films President, Walter Hamada, confirmed the news of him leaving after the cancellation of the movie. He will exit the franchise after the release of Black Adam.

The DCEU also has multiple future movies planned alongside Peacemaker season 2. The company is still apparently moving forward with Blue Beetle, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and the upcoming Joker sequel.

However, all eyes are currently on Black Adam. The movie is a massive project for DCEU and also for Dwayne Johnson’s Seven Buck Production.

James Gunn on signing WWE superstar John Cena 

James Gunn has worked with two WWE superstars until now. He worked with Dave Bautista in Marvels, The Guardians of the Galaxy and with John Cena in Peacemaker.

As far as Cena is concerned, his big break came after the movie Trainwreck. John Cena did several top banner films since, but James Gunn had already noticed him. He was waiting for the right part for Cena and with Suicide Squad 2, Gunn quickly signed him as Peacemaker.

James Gunn is solely responsible for giving John Cena and Batista their big break with exceptional roles. John Cena won hearts across the globe with his portraying of Peacemaker, while Batista has already made a place for himself in the hearts of Marvel fans. All thanks to their talents and James Gunn’s belief.
