Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, is known to be one of the humblest and nicest guys in both the WWE and Hollywood. Most recently, his kind nature was displayed with his warm gesture towards UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo. This gesture got WWE stars, UFC fighters, and even actors praising The Rock.

Gorimbo’s story went viral as he spoke about living conditions coming to the US with $7 to his name. The Rock saw the post and related to his situation when he was young and proceeded to change Gorimbo’s life.

The Rock buys Gorimbo a house for his whole family

Born in the Zimbabwean city of Masvingo, Gorimbo lost his parents at a young age. After working as an illegal diamond miner to survive, he fled Africa due to the famine of the 2000s. At 19, he began his MMA training after watching the movie Never Back Down. He got signed by the UFC in 2023 but arrived in America with just $7 in his pocket. Gorimbo revealed that he was down to $7 in his bank account prior to getting his first win at UFC Vegas 73, which caught Johnson’s attention.

During this time, his story was making the rounds on social media. With the winning amount of $7,000, he built a water pump back home so other kids wouldn’t go through what he did. This incredible gesture on his part won him fans over the globe. This also brought his story to The Rock, who took to social media to send him a message saying that his story moved and motivated him. 

Following the online exchange, The Rock met Gorimbo, who broke down seeing The Great One. The two hugged and shared words. The Rock and Gorimbo were both visibly emotionally moved during this interaction. The Rock asked him where he slept and where he lived with $7 in his account. Gorimbo showed The Rock that he was sleeping on a couch in the gym.

Once the meet and greet was over, under the guise of meeting someone well-connected, The Rock took Gorimbo out. The two drove to a house where The Rock finally revealed that the house they were in was Gorimbo’s new home. Needless to say, this moved the UFC fighter to tears. The Rock even put pictures of Gorimbo and his family in picture frames throughout the house.

Once Gorimbo calmed down, The Rock gave him a tour of his new home. During the ride, Gorimbo mentioned walking 10 kilometers to watch WWE on Saturday and Sunday. This showed why he held The Rock at such high prestige. While in the new home, Gorimbo explained how his first mission was to get his family over and start a new life with them. The Rock uploaded this interaction on his Instagram, resulting in a downpour of comments from WWE stars, UFC fighters, and even actors.

Once Gorimbo calmed down during the interaction, he told The Rock he would become champion and said this was his promise. The entire interaction is very heartwarming and emotional. DJ even touched upon the fact that Gorimbo did not use his first win’s money to do anything for himself, rather than that he helped his village back home.
