When the Raw after ‘Mania ended, everyone was ready to watch the brawl between Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes go down. Seeing one of the most beloved babyfaces in modern times be thrown around by the Beast Incarnate was hard to watch. Everyone watching wanted to see Rhodes take his deserve revenge at Backlash.

But they certainly didn’t expect so much blood to be in the match. After hitting the turnbuckle, Lesnar started bleeding wildly and Rhodes took advantage. But that wasn’t enough to put down the former WWE Champion. So, Rhodes countered Lesnar’s Kimura Lock and pinned him in the middle of the ring.

While she didn’t mention the ending that left many shocked and disappointed, Brandi Rhodes mentioned the blood in the match. She confirmed that the blood on Cody Rhodes’ face was in fact not his, but Lesnar’s. This is a far cry from Rhodes’ previous matches in the Indies which saw him bleed quite often. One of the matches that basically began the ‘story’ was when Rhodes won the NWA championship.

Even after signing with AEW, his matches with MJF and the late Brodie Lee saw him bleed profusely. His milestone match with his brother, Dustin Rhodes in AEW also saw both the brothers fighting in a pool of each others’ blood. So, being in WWE has minimized that to a great amount, but Rhodes still puts his body on the line for his matches.

We hope that Rhodes stays safe even in his future matches, but it seems like the ending of his match with Lesnar didn’t resonate well with the fans. Now, they are complaining about the ending and everything about it.
