Brock Lesnar’s High School Friend Reveals Interesting Details of His Real-Life Personality With Close Friends and Family: “What You’re Seeing, to Me, Is Just Brock”

Brock Lesnar is an incredible athlete and one of the most popular wrestlers in the world. Lesnar has a list of accolades in WWE and his success will be hard to match. Moreover, in addition to being a World Champion in WWE multiple times, he is also a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. Athletes like Brock Lesnar come once in a generation as ‘The Beast’ has dominated every combat sport he partook in.

Lesnar is a spectacle to watch when he is in the ring. He remains one of the biggest draws in WWE history. One person who knows this is his long-time friend and WWE veteran, Shelton Benjamin.

Benjamin, to his credit, is a phenomenal athlete, and he has given some unforgettable moments to the WWE Universe over the years. Moreover, Benjamin has come forward many times to discuss his relationship with Brock Lesnar and he recently commented on The Beast’s new character in WWE.

Shelton appeared on the “Out of Character with Ryan Satin” podcast and he talked about Brock’s new character. Benjamin said.

“I would say it’s the most like he is in real life amongst people that he likes, ” Shelton Benjamin added. “I tell people all the time: one of the cool things with Brock is you never have to wonder where you stand with him because he’ll tell you, he’ll show you. He either wants nothing to do with you or you’re good friends. What you’re seeing to me is just Brock when he’s relaxed and amongst friends.” (h/t WrestlingInc)

However, Shelton adds that The Beast version of Lesnar that the WWE audience has seen for 20 years is also how Brock is in real life.

“The same sort of confidence, commanding presence, commanding attitude, everything, that’s Brock period.” (h/t WrestlingInc)

Shelton revealed that the new version of Brock is just another side of him besides The Beast persona.

Brock Lesnar and Shelton Benjamin’s friendship

Brock Lesnar and Shelton Benjamin first met when Benjamin was in his final year at the University of Minnesota. Both of them bonded with each other while wrestling with the university team. Moreover, when WWE came to sign both of them, Lesnar explicitly stated that he won’t sign unless they hire Shelton as well. However, Shelton was already signed to WWE before Brock.

The two came up in WWE developmental Ohio Valley Wrestling together and were even a tag team. Their careers then took very different directions, but both have won multiple championships in WWE.
