John Cena has been making headline after headline ever since his arrival in WWE. After a hiatus that lasted an eternity for the Cenation, Cena has returned with a whole package of explosives. While his initial homecoming only had him signed up for SmackDown, The Champ is making his return count even more. Cena will be in the corner of former NXT Champion on the next offering of WWE’s third brand show.

Carmelo Hayes has emerged as a blazingly hot top gun of the NXT division. The former NXT Champion recently made a mind-blowing announcement that excited the entire WWE Universe. In fact, John Cena himself confirmed and backed up the words spoken by none other than ‘HIM’ himself.

John Cena asked to make a grand appearance at NXT

The initial rumors of John Cena’s return were quite damp, as they just mentioned a few episodes of SmackDown and a special appearance in India. However, the 16-time world champion blessed the WWE Universe with an appearance at PLEs as well. Now, Cena has also confirmed a grand appearance at WWE’s third brand, NXT. Interestingly, according to a tweet by Cena, it’s a show one just can’t afford to miss.

The tweet carried the caption, “N-X-T! N-X-T! N-X-T! Thank you to @Carmelo_WWE for the opportunity to be there LIVE on @WWENXT on what will be a CANNOT MISS show on Tuesday! C U Then!!! #WWENXT.”  The tweet also carried a video of Carmelo Hayes saying he’ll go against his biggest rival, Bron Breakker. Hayes claimed his first NXT Championship title against Bron Breakker, by beating him at the 2023 NXT Stand & Deliver.

But, the superstar lost the belt to Dragunov after a hard-fought battle at NXT: No Mercy. This was followed by Breakker asking Hayes to team up with him obliterate the NXT brand, and walk away. However, this didn’t sit right with Hayes who has now requested to trade blows with Breakker. In fact, Hayes also mentioned that John Cena will enter the arena of NXT as his ally.

Carmelo Hayes titled himself HIM after proving himself as one of the greatest wrestlers of the NXT division. He claims that the title symbolizes the desire in every man to be exactly like HIM.

Now, Hayes stares back into the eyes of the man whom he has once usurped from his throne. The video shared by John Cena captured Hayes saying, “I spoke on the phone with somebody who gave me some real advice. He didn’t tell me something I wanted to her, but he told me something I needed to hear. That man’s name is John Cena.” The news was shared by WWE’s official website. 

Hayes continued, “I mean, 16-time world champ, John Cena.” As the crowd erupted in massive cheers, Carmelo further added, “Do you know what that means? That means he had to get off the mat 15 times and keep moving forward, and that’s exactly what he told me to do.”

This wasn’t all, Hayes further went ahead and noted, “And you know what else he told me? He told me that next week in my match against Bron, he’s going to have my back. He’s gonna be in my corner.” 

These words show the powerful resolve carried by Carmelo Hayes and his determination to get back at the top in NXT. Will Hayes be able to power through Breakker? Not to forget Breakker will have Paul Heyman in his corner as well.
