Reflecting on his injury, he drew inspiration from his friend Chad Gilbert‘s cancer battle. Following his injury, he said, “I’m very careful about saying, like, where you work is your family. Because I think your family is your family and where you work is your job. But it’s been a great support system.” Punk’s not just an athlete; he’s part of a supportive WWE family, and he’s itching to return stronger than ever.  

Punk also stated, “And just certain looks from certain people I get, and then I start crying again, you know? And Cody’s one of them. He’s a great dude. This locker room is everything the business is supposed to be. It’s everything the business was sold to me as being.” Missing out on the “amazing situation” is tough, but Punk remains focused on the future with the help of his locker room family.

Despite the injury blues, Punk’s eyes are set on future WrestleMania main events, with a promise to come after Drew McIntyre first thing upon his return. However, these views are very different from the views that wrestlers working in AEW had about Punk.

The Young Bucks hinted at CM Punk and toxicity in AEW. Since the AEW All-In incident in 2023, opinions on Punk have been split. While some defend him, The Young Bucks surprisingly called out alleged toxicity in the locker rooms, hinting at Punk without naming him. 

The backstage clash with Jack Perry led to Punk’s departure and fueled reports about AEW’s toxicity. Despite support from some AEW stars, questions linger about Punk’s alleged toxicity. Is it a media portrayal or a real concern? The Young Bucks’ remarks add a layer to the ongoing debate.
