Cody Rhodes Slaps Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, KSI & Logan Paul Announce Historic Prime Deal: WWE Smackdown 3/8 Results Highlights & Recap

Coming live from the American Airlines Center in Dallas, this episode of WWE SmackDown was set to be an explosion. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins meet Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and The Bloodline. Bobby Lashley took on Karrion Kross, Bayley faced Dakota Kai, and much more. Here are the results of everything that took place on this week’s show.

WWE SmackDown 08/03/2024 Results

Video package: The show started with a video package of the last episode of WWE SmackDown. This recapped what The Rock had to say to Rhodes and Rollins. After the video package, we got to see Rhodes and Rollins backstage, getting ready to face The Bloodline.

In-ring segment: Logan Paul opened the show. The WWE United States champion talked about how he elevated the WWE. He showcased the logo of his PRIME energy drink on the in-ring mat. Logan claimed that his company partnered with WWE as a sponsor. He welcomed his company’s partner, Youtuber KSI. However, Randy Orton came in from behind, and while Paul escaped, KSI ate the RKO.

Announcement: A video package showed Triple H showcasing the Diamond Play button with 100 million subscribers on YouTube.

Randy Orton and Kevin Owens vs. Austin Theory and Grayson Waller

Winner: Randy Orton and Kevin Owens

WWE SmackDown opened with a thrilling match between Randy Orton and Kevin Owens facing Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. The match started out with Orton taking control and getting his frustration with Logan Paul out on Theory. Despite taking control over the latter half of the match, Orton was able to win after an RKO.

Post-match: Logan Paul attacked both men after the match ended but escaped before he could be taken down.

Backstage segment: We saw extra security backstage issued by Nick Aldis in preparation for the Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, and The Bloodline collision.

Backstage segment: Bayley is seen in an interview with Kayla Braxton. Bayley claims that she built Damage CTRL and will now do anything to break it. We see Bianca Belair and Naomi watching the interview. While Naomi feels bad for Bayley, Belair believes she deserves it for creating Damage CTRL.

Bobby Lashley vs. Karrion Kross

Winner: Bobby Lashley wins via disqualification

Both men looked extremely strong during the match. Trading blows, they were equally matched. While Lashley’s strength was already known, the match showcased Kross as being as strong as him. However, near the end, while Lashley had the match, AOP attacked, leading to Lashley winning via disqualification. While The Steet Profits came to Lashley’s rescue, AOP took them out.

Backstage segment: We see Dragon Lee meet Elektra Lopez and Santos Escobar. Escobar claims that LWO is dead and that Lee is nothing.

Mia “Michin” Yim vs. Tiffany Stratton

Winner: Tiffany Stratton

The match started out in Michin’s favor with some good attacks on Stratton. However, things took a turn once Stratton gained control. After hitting the prettiest moonsault, Stratton picked up the win.

Video package: We get a video package of AJ Styles addressing why he assaulted LA Knight in the Elimination Chamber.

Backstage segment: Knight is seen watching the promo by Styles. Picking up a steel chair, he destroys the TV as an example of what he wants to do to Styles.

Dragon Less vs. Angel Garza

Winner: Dragon Lee

The match was a great showcase of Lucha-style wrestling. While both men looked good, Lee was incredible as always. Dragon Lee won the match by pinfall with a Hurricanrana.

Main Event: Dwayne Johnson and The Bloodline

The final segment of the night was the highly anticipated confrontation between Dwyane Johnson and The Bloodline with Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. After making their way to the ring, Reigns first asked to be acknowledged before Rhodes’ music hit. The crowd erupted as Rhodes and Rollins made their way via the fans.

The Bloodline left the ring for Roman Reings and Johnson to be the only ones inside with Rhodes and Rollins. Rhodes began by claiming he felt lucky to be in the ring and that all four men should take a moment. However, he did ask if Johnson had the power to issue this challenge. He claimed that since Johnson accepted Reigns as The Tribal Chief, he was in charge. Johnson quickly shut them down and restated the challenge.

Rollins was quick to get in Johnson’s face and accept the challenge. Johnson claimed that he was a member of the TKO Board and that he was Rhodes’ boss. The Rock even called Rhodes a mistake. This led to Rhodes slapping The Rock before the show cut off.
