Despite Carrying Prescription, Ric Flair Landed Himself in Trouble After Failed Drug Test

WWE is one of the biggest wrestling promotions of all time. The company changed its stance on drug and substance usage after former CEO Vince McMahon fell into trouble for it. Ever since then, the entire drug usage policy was changed, and people found testing positive were handed heavy fines or suspended. And even the legend, Ric Flair, was not safe from it.

A recent example of such suspension is WWE star Riddle. Riddle was suspended toward the end of last year and has yet to return to the ring. Speaking on his latest podcast, Ric Flair spoke about a time, when was tested positive and then fined.

Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, Flair spoke about a time, when he was fined for steroid usage, even though he had a prescription for it.

In his podcast, he revealed how the doctor tried to reason with him after his positive results, and how WWE handled the whole situation. The 73-year-old revealed that WWE gave him a unique punishment for his positive result.

What did Ric Flair have to face after testing positive for steroid usage?

The Nature Boy revealed the one-of-a-kind punishment that he was handed by John Laurinaitis. Flair revealed what WWE told him. “Hell they sent me home. I got popped for a steroid test. Laurinaitus said, ‘you are fined 40 grand’. You are not going home, be at work. I’m just not going to pay you for a month. How about that? My sh*t always different from everybody else.”

Instead of suspending The Nature Boy, WWE compelled him to come to work every day for a month without pay. He also handed a heavy fine of $40 grand, making a huge hole in his pocket. Flair had also provided his reasons behind his prescribed steroid usage as, ” I am 55 years old, I wrestling 25-year-old kids.

However, long gone are those days, and Flair is now living a happy retired life. Flair recently underwent several health scares but is currently better and on a recovery route.

A 16-time World Champion himself, his daughter Charlotte Flair is set to defend her 14th World Championship against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39.
