The report stated, “The last thing heard (which was around Christmas week) was that communications have opened between WWE and the former Sasha Banks about a potential return.” They further reported that “WWE sources noted that several factors, including change in ownership and the Paul Levesque creative regime firmly in place, set the stage for the two sides to reset their relationship and for Sasha Banks to potentially return.

It is to be noted that Sasha Banks left WWE under the regime of Vince McMahon due to creative issues. Hence, it was obvious that Triple H’s leadership would bring something different to initiate the discussion between WWE and Sasha Bank.

The report further states that WWE was extremely interested in having her back, especially after the injury to Charlotte Flair. However, nothing is confirmed until it is official as rumors about Banks’ joining AEW are still looming.

Sources also suggest that Sasha Banks’ may join AEW

After Dr Britt Baker called herself The Boss of AEW, fans took it as a tease for the debut of Mercedes Mone. But fans were disappointed as Banks did not show up at AEW Dynamite this week. It further solidifies fans’ belief that AEW often plays with its audience. However, while Banks has confirmed to be in contact with AEW, a deal has not been finalized as yet.

Renowned wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer recently stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that, “The expectation is that it’s imminent. Until it happens and that I hear that the contract is actually signed, I don’t take anything seriously because it’s been a year of rumors and thoughts and noting happened.” Even Meltzer refuses to confirm anything regarding the status of her contract until it is official.

Furthermore, on the update, Mike Johnson of PWInsider stated, “An AEW source reached out to say the company has absolutely been in contact with Mone and said “if you don’t think we are in the hunt, you are crazy.” With Banks being sought after by two of the biggest wrestling promotions in the country, it seems that it’s up to her where she’ll end up in the ring.
