Two-time World Champion Drew McIntyre confronted Seth Rollins on the October 16th episode of Monday Night RAW for a title opportunity. Rollins gladly accepted the proposal but the tensions between the duo escalated in the buildup to Crown Jewel. On the fated night, the Scottish star failed to achieve his goal as the defending champion retained his crown.

Nevertheless, McIntyre has not possessed any WWE title for over two years now, a period too long for a talent of his caliber. The frustration of not winning titles is now evident on his face which might lead to a heel turn. But will we see a heel turn for him on RAW?

McIntyre has earned a reputation as a solid performer in the company who has also proven his prowess as a main event performer when the need be. Hence, it would have been an enormous loss for the company to lose a talent like him. However, WWE decided to ink a new contract with the Scotsman ahead of his title challenge in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

An extension of the contract provides more time for the creative team to develop a storyline around McIntyre. They have laid down the seeds for a strong storyline based around his heel turn. After putting up a valiant effort against the WWE World Heavy Weight Champion, he came up short and lost to pin-fall. However, this was not like any other loss for the RAW star, as he left the ring dejected and jaded.

Which way will Drew McIntyre go now?

WWE has thrown various hints in recent times at turning Drew McIntyre’s heel. In one of the segments, he did not save Seth Rollins from a beatdown by Damian Priest. He showed his apprehensions against Jey Uso’s draft to RAW, a move cheered by WWE fans and top baby faces on RAW. He was also seen discussing things with Rhea Ripley after Rollins accepted his challenge for a title match.

McIntyre stopped Priest from cashing in his MITB contract and saved Rollins. He also denied any help or allegiance from The Judgment Day. As of now, he is considered as an anti-hero but given the circumstances, fans can expect a heel turn for McIntyre going forward.
