The Mysterio family has been quite the focus of WWE Universe ever since Dominik turned heel on his father Rey Mysterio last year. There have been many heated angles between the second-ever father-son rivals duo in history. Finally, Dom and Rey faced off each other in a high-voltage match during WrestleMania 39. Although Dom couldn’t prevail over the elder Mysterio, their issues seem far from being resolved.

Besides his much-needed victory against his son in WrestleMania, the 48-year-old also got inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame in the same week. The WWE Universe rejoiced to the fullest in both cases. Now, they have more reason to congratulate the veteran, but this time for something unrelated to the squared circle.

Rey Mysterio and his wife Angie Gutierrez completed 27 years of their journey as a married couple. The duo have been having each other’s back since 1996 following their wedding. Now, there can’t be a more perfect time than this to give a big shout-out to their enviable relationship. Mysterio knows it well. The legendary superstar posted a beautiful collage of their couple photos with a long sweet note on Instagram and fans have their eyes glued to it.

Rey detailed his wife’s contribution to his career and life as well. The WWE veteran owed many things to his loving wife. During Hall of Fame induction, Rey recollected a series of past events that eventually earned him a top spot in the pro wrestling world. Like most of the other notable superstars, the 48-year-old also has his own share of struggles in life. But without whom, he couldn’t survive the roller coaster journey, is his wife, Angie.

175 pounds WWE legend was in tears while recalling Angie’s unconditional support and sacrifice during his tough days. He noted, ‘What Angie did was, she was studying medicine at the time and she literally put her medical career aside, got a job, and would send me money.’

Rey was so possessive and protective of Angie that Dom’s humiliating behavior toward his mother worked as an ultimate trigger to make an otherwise reluctant father agree to a WrestleMania match with his son.
