The CM Punk fever is still at an all-time high and quite rightfully so. The WWE world got utterly engulfed in the former World Champion’s predicted yet surprising homecoming at the Survivor Series PLE last week. The high-flying return begs the obvious question, though: what is the next storyline brewing behind the scenes? And it seems like Punk already has his next prey lined up in the form of a frenzied Dominik Mysterio.

After a surreal comeback at Survivor Series, The Best in The World cropped up at Raw last week. Afterward, he straight jumped on teasing his first-ever rivalry in the company via Instagram.

Dominik Mysterio issued a savage response to CM Punk’s cocky tease

Taking to his Instagram story today, Punk shared a throwback photo from an episode of SmackDown of 2010. The photo comprises Punk, Rey Mysterio, and his son Dominik Mysterio. It was part of a notorious segment where Punk sang happy birthday to Rey’s daughter Aalyah, fueling tensions between him and Dominik Mysterio.

The post didn’t go unnoticed by Dom Dom and he displayed an interesting reaction to it. The 26-year-old reposted it with a middle finger emoji. In addition, keeping in line with his heel tendencies, he put clown faces on the faces of all of his family members.

The current momentum of the bad blood between Dominik Mysterio and Rey Mysterio

At WWE Clash at the Castle 2022, Dominik Mysterio turned heel and betrayed his father, Rey Mysterio, leading to the most intense father-son feud in the company’s history.

He later joined The Judgment Day, which proved to be a turning point in his career. While his faction couldn’t ultimately save him from getting a beatdown by his dad at WrestleMania 39, the story seems far from being over.

During a recent WWE show, the Dirty Dom was seen mocking his father through a toy figure. It stirred the rumor of their rekindled rivalry.

While we’re not sure if WWE pans out the notorious angle further or not, the amount of hate Mysterio has been carrying for his father remains the same. Now, we need to see if Punk’s coming for Mysterio or WWE has something else in their plan.
