The American Nightmare Cody Rhodes returned to WWE last year with a grand reception. After being one of the most sought stars in the independent circuit, Rhodes would return to WWE, and immediately involve himself in a feud with Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins.

However, soon after, he would suffer a pectoral injury that would put him out of action for nearly one year. Rhodes would then return at the 2023 Royal Rumble and win the event. And from there, began Rhodes’ red hot form.

However, he would fail to capitalize on his red-hot form after losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. And on the following night after that, he would suffer a major beat-down at the hands of Brock Lesnar, who was previously scheduled to be in a tag match with him.

Recently, WWE commentator Corey Graves compared Cody Rhodes’ situation with his father Dusty Rhodes’ situation in the 1980s. Dusty Rhodes is a legend, however, he had to make his way to the top. During the 1980s, Dusty Rhodes was going through a rough patch and was having an underwhelming run. Graves would bring that up and compare it with his son’s current run.
