Dwayne Johnson Lied About Black Adam Profits as Box Office Numbers and Actor’s Claims Do Not Match- Report

Dwayne Johnson is a man of multi-talents. Apart from being an actor and a businessman, Johnson also used to be a pro wrestler as well as a footballer. However, his failed career as a footballer gave rise to his wrestling and acting career.

Known as The Rock in WWE, he was one of the most well-known faces in the company, and he made a place for himself there among the top stars. However, he would later leave WWE to join Hollywood and shine there as an actor. Over the years, Johnson has found himself to be an essential part of several highly-grossing movies.

On October 21st 2022, Black Adam was released. One of Dwayne Johnson’s highly anticipated movies. The film was one of the most expected films of the year. And although it did not disappoint the fans, it failed to impress the critics, and fell flat on ratings.

Johnson’s claims about Black Adam earnings

Dwayne Johnson would often take to social media to announce the amazing business the film had been conducting. His latest claim came on 7th December 2022, when he announced how the film would be making a profit between $52-72 Million.

He also mentioned how the film earned a staggering $400 million worldwide. However, inside reports from Warner Bros claim something else. In the Puck Newsletter, Matt Beloni claimed that several Warner Bros. executives leaked the favourable numbers to the Deadline article, which as per Belloni is filled with “false assumptions.

With DCEU‘s future now dangling on a wire, executives are worried about Dwayne Johnson‘s exaggerations and self-promotions. Although it seems weird, but Dwayne Johnson claiming false information somehow seems believable. Since at the same time, Black Panther 2 came out, and did wonders at the box-office.

In reality the film earned, $389,256,034 to be specific, which is still way behind $400 Million.

What is ahead in the future of Dwayne Johnson and the DCEU?

The future of DCEU currently seems very nervy. Ever since David Zaslav took over Warner Bros. as the new studio, several projects have been shelved, and new developments have taken place. The newly shot Bat-girl was shelved as well as several other projects were kept on hold.

Scenes shot with Michael Keaton as they reshot Batman with Ben Affleck. Director Patty Jenkins left from Wonder Woman. While DCEU and Warner Bros. have several other projects to work on, such as as Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and The Flash.

It still does not solve the problem for Dwayne Johnson, and whether or not he would make his return to the franchise.
