Dwayne Johnson Opens Up About How Pro Wrestling Played a Big Part in Saving His Relationship With His Daughter Ava Raine: “I Had So Much S**t Going On”

After his father, Rocky Johnson, it was Dwayne Johnson who took his family’s wrestling legacy forward. And now that The Rock is apparently done with his pro wrestling career, her daughter took the beacon into her own hands. Simone Johnson. as many would know, is currently a part of WWE NXT. But did her decision to join the pro wrestling industry in any way affect her relationship with her father? The answer is a big yes. 

Simone Johnson, aka Ava Raine of The Schism of NXT, is the 21-year-old daughter of The Rock and her ex-wife, Dany Garcia. She debuted in WWE NXT last year in October. Since then, she has established herself as a key member of Schism wherein she has contributed to their wins. That being said, it shows how Johnson’s daughter is following his father’s footsteps religiously. But was The Great One able to provide the necessary love and care to her daughter?

Speaking on The Pivot podcast recently after fans hailed Ava Raine for her acting skills in WWE NXT, Dwayne Johnson opened up about his relationship with his daughter. With all honey, the legend admitted the impact of pro wrestling on his life. 

He said, “I had so much shit going on. So, I like to say me and Simone grew up together.”

Adding to his narration of the anecdote of his life, The Rock revealed how he couldn’t give adequate time to her elder daughter. 

“We had a relationship where I was always gone, but we tried to keep it together. Now years later as she becomes a pro wrestler, it’s actually brought us closer together. So, in a way, it’s helped save that relationship too. In many ways, pro wrestling has been my family’s savior,” The Brahma Bull added.

All in all, one can now say that apart from giving much recognition to Johnson, pro wrestling has been his family’s savior as well. Even further into the conversation, The Rock talked about how pro wrestling has in a way saved his life.

During the same podcast, DJ shared the story of how he had a major fight with his dad when he told him about joining the wrestling business. However, after some tears and intense arguments, he agreed to train his son. And since the first day of training, The Rock fell in love with the sport. 

He said, “I was in love, that was it. So, in a way, wrestling did save my life and in a way thank you God, and the universe.”

Following this, he emphasized the fact that wrestling helped his grandfather and father improve their fortunes and turn their life around. All of this was possible because of wrestling. And even Johnson came a long way and now feels honored and privileged to watch her daughter doing the same.
