Dwayne Johnson Still Keeps His “Seven Bucks” Mindset on the Forefront, Despite Almost Achieving the Billionaire Status

Everything about Dwayne Johnson screams success. Whether it is the WWE or Hollywood or Business, Johnson has attained unimaginable success through his hard work and stick-to-itiveness. But before Dwayne Johnson slammed people on the mat for a living, he hit ‘rock bottom’ many times in his real life. He calls his hard times, the “Seven Bucks moment”. 

Even in the face of adversity, The Rock never gave up hope. When one door closed shut, he found another way. Today, Johnson inspires the whole world by sharing the story of his struggle behind his success. And it all started with seven bucks in his wallet.

Despite being one of the highest-paid actors in the world, Dwayne Johnson never forgets his humble beginnings. In fact, he keeps them in the “forefront of his mind”. In case you didn’t know, Dwayne Johnson’s dream was to be a professional football player. At the age of 16, he earned a scholarship to play for the University of Miami. But due to his injuries, Johnson could make it to the NFL teams. Subsequently, he joined Canadian Football League.

However, he was cut in October of that year. At the time, Johnson could not afford a ride to the airport and so he bummed one from his friend. He was then picked up by his father when he arrived at the Miami airport. On his way back home, he checked his wallet and learned that he only had $7 with him.

During an appearance at The Pivotal Podcast, Johnson recalled his story and stated that while he was in dire straits, the people who he played with were living their dreams. He said, “The guys who I was playing with at that time Ray Lewis, Warren Sapp they were lighting the world on fire. Their dreams were coming true they were buying their mom’s houses and when I got cut from Canada, that season, that was when I had seven bucks in my pocket so we’ve all had those moments in seven bucks”

Johnson further stated that many would relate to him and no matter how different our journeys are, we have all had our Seven Bucks moment in life. The fact that hard times helped shape who Dwyane Johnson is today, Johnson always keeps those moments in the “forefront” of his mind. He added, “So what I tried to do is try to keep all those times the hard times or keep them in the forefront of my mind.”

The Hollywood mogul has a great attitude. While many people whine and complain about their problems, Johnson kept a stiff upper lip and found good things in hard times. 

His affluence is a testament to his diligence. Years later, The Rock would climb the ladder to success and establish himself as a megastar in showbiz. Moreover, he launched his own media production company named “Seven Bucks Productions” to let it be a reminder of his journey on the rocky road of life. 

The Red Notice actor is only a few million shy from reaching billionaire status. Recently, he suffered a massive loss from his XFL business. However, his Tequila company continued to excel.

In 2020, Dwayne Johnson joined Dany Garcia, Ken Austin, and Jenna Fagnan to launch his Tequila company, Teremana Tequila. At the time, the world was practically closed due to the global pandemic. However, Johnson leveraged his massive social media presence to market his brand. 

It was recently announced that Teremana Tequila reached an impressive milestone, having sold 1 million cases annually. The Rock has employed a team of like-minded people who work very hard with the tequila-making process.
