Dwayne Johnson Was Once Skeptical of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Guidance Despite Enjoying Camaraderie Later

Dwayne Johnson is currently ranked among the elites in Hollywood. However, it was not always such the case. Johnson began a career in pro wrestling after suffering a major setback in his football career. His failure to star in the NFL, and a disappointing career in the Canadian Football league, made him choose pro wrestling.

However, after Dwayne Johnson transformed into The Rock, his pro wrestling career took a head-start. And he became one of the most popular and successful superstars on the roster. The Rock was a main-eventer and an upper-card level wrestler. Throughout his WWE career, he was involved in several high-profile feuds, including one with Hulk Hogan.

However, after enjoying the epitome of success in WWE, Johnson had a change of mind. He again switched his career and joined Hollywood to become an actor. Initially, after struggling for a few years, Johnson struck gold, and went onto become one of the most talked about stars in the world.

The Brahma Bull of WWE is also known for fine, well-built physique. Currently, at 50 years old, he has one of the most well-maintained physiques in the entire industry. Whenever speaking about physiques, another name which comes to mind is of, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Arnold Schwarzenegger also became an actor from a bodybuilder. On an episode of The Howard Stern Show, Johnson had revealed his friendship with The Terminator actor. He revealed that their connection had begun when Schwarzenegger had appeared on WWE in the 90s. He also mentioned how, since then, they have become friends and gone out for dinner as well.

However, when asked if he saw Schwarzenegger as his mentor, Johnson straight up denied. He stated, “No, he’s not my mentor, but I respect what he’s done because he’s done a lot of good films.” Although, Johnson stated how The Predator actor has been very cool and supportive of him.

Dwayne Johnson is currently one of the top-most sought actors. And, being in that position brings forward a lot of criticism. Recently, former WWE Superstar and actor, Batista opened shots at Johnson. When asked if wanted to be the next Rock, Batista did not hold back.

The Royal Rumble winner stated, “I never wanted to be the next Rock. I just want to be a good fucking actor. A respected actor.” And, indeed Batista is one of the most talented and promising actors in the industry currently, and his filmography can speak for so.
