Recently, in an exclusive interview with Essentially Rasslin Podcast Rob Klingman shared what made The Undertaker do a collaboration with Dr. Disrespect even though The Deadman doesn’t like video games. Klingman is currently the VP of Marketing Operations at G Fuel and a former VP of All Sponsorship Sale at WWE.
Klingman said, “So you are probably right. I had sat with him the night before for dinner and he is as old school as he can get. He doesn’t like social media, he doesn’t likes people. He likes to be himself and he knew 15-20 years ago (that) he couldn’t do what he did then in today’s world. Because people are snapping the photos, posting it on snapchat wherever they are doing it. So he is definitely old school soul and rightfully, so that’s his exact mentality.”

He added, “He felt that same way but for this opportunity, he thought this opportunity of him to grow a younger audience who could then relate to him a little bit differently. That is where he saw the idea because as much he is retired his IP, his image is still gonna live on. So his hope was with this younger crowd that Dr. Disrespect had and a great crowd, could they start to follow him a little further after this type of activation.”
Clearly, this was a surprise appearance of Taker. The main reason behind this collaboration was to culminate their kayfabe feud. In October 2019, Dr.Disrespect without any prior notice crashed the SmackDown FOX premiere at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
However, later Taker crashed Dr.Disrespect’s Overwatch stream, calling out The Two-time. As a result, this collaboration was possible but never culminated due to a certain turn of events.
